This Weekend in Laguna (Aug. 6 - 9, 2020)


As the daily entertainment scene has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the indoor live music venues remain closed for now. This week we add one more outdoor option for live music, and it's a jazzy one! The following venues allow the music while seated at a table. Dancing is not permitted!

August Art Walk is ON! Thursday, August 6, from 6 pm-9 pm. 
We recommend calling a gallery or checking their website ahead of time to see if they will be open tonight. It is up to the galleries whether they will open or not.

Music is back at Mozambique! The stage is in the upper parking lot. There are tables and chairs distanced apart for dining and those seats are first come first served.
This weekend on Friday and Saturday - Andrew Bloom - 6 pm-9 pm.
Sunday features Reggae from 6 pm-9 pm. On percussion and vocals, Rock Deadrick, (percussionist with Ziggy Marley); Reggae legend Fully Fullwood on bass; Michael Hyde on keys; and Bob Hawkins on guitar.

Summer on the Porch at The Ranch at Laguna Beach is a daily infusion of incredible musical talent coupled with scenic views of the Aliso Canyon and Ben Brown's Golf Course. Since Harvest Restaurant moved outdoors, the music will be on the nearby Sage Patio. The California-inspired cuisine, craft brews, and cocktails complete the experience. Reservations are not required.

The new outdoor Yard Bar, located in the Lumberyard Mall on Forest Avenue, is currently the outdoor version of Lumberyard Restaurant. They offer the complete Lumberyard menu, a full bar, and live music in the center of it all from 6 pm-9 pm.

The Stage on Forest: The Cultural Arts Department at City Hall has suspended announcing the live music lineup on The Promenade due to its popularity and subsequent crowd-drawing. However, they have booked a mellow solo or duo to perform on Friday 5 pm-8 pm, Saturday 2 pm-5 pm and 6 pm-9 pm and Sundays 3 pm-6 pm. There is public seating, where you can relax and enjoy food and beverages from a neighboring restaurant such as Harley or Broadway or Salerno. You may also dine on The Promenade at Alessa, 230 Forest Ave., Brussels Bistro, or Moulin Bakery.

The laid back vibes at Laguna Beach Beer Company continue with live music in the Beer Garden with Justin Ratowsky of Cali Conscious from 1 pm-3 pm on Sunday. It will undoubtedly be a perfect Sunday in the canyon with friends, hand-crafted beers, and tasty bites! Find the Laguna Beach Beer Company in The Hive at 859 Laguna Canyon Rd.

Zinc Cafe presents Jazz on the Patio every Friday and Saturday from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm. Guests can dine on the white papered tables while soaking up the jazz stylings of Allen Takatsuka on Piano, Josh Cobian on Bass, and the venerable Jorg Dubin on Drums.
