There’s a New Taco Tuesday in Town
Taco Tuesday’s newest hot spot is at Sawdust Festival where all the restaurants on the grounds offer their spin on tacos every Tuesday from 4pm–7pm with very reasonable pricing.
Deb’s Deli: This 39 year veteran vendor likes to switch up her choices of meat, poultry or fish and the salsa that goes with it on a weekly basis. VIBE sampled the Pescado de Ajo (fish slow-cooked in garlic) resulting in a very moist and flavorful street taco at $2.50 each. Perfecto!
Evan’s Gourmet Bistro: Evan came up with a unique twist, foregoing the tortilla for organic butter lettuce to wrap up her delicious mini-cubes of pork belly mixed with cilantro, pickled jalapeños, tomatillo cream sauce, and pickled carrots. 2 wraps for $5. Muy delicioso!
Greg at Tacos Durrell grills his avocados face down for a smoky tasting soft inside that’s served with a dollop of homemade pico de gallo and chips for scooping (each $3.50). He also offers two chicken street tacos for $3.50. *Side note: Greg’s daily, made from scratch pies are simply to die for!
GG’s Mediterranean Express: GG’s boasts their Turkish recipes for chicken, lamb, calamari and swordfish for their open face tacos. Mix & match 3 tacos to an order for $6. Since Mediterranean cuisine loves olive oil, you will appreciate the tortilla being lightly basted and grilled for a crunchier, tastier shell.
Sweet tooth’s won’t be left out of this Taco Tuesday fiesta. Olivia at the Espresso on the Go kiosk whips up a Mexican Mocha Latte topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. Fran’s Popcorn stand stocks her freezer with chocolate, taco shaped, waffle cones filled with vanilla ice cream. Sawdust Saloon doesn’t have a Taco Tuesday offering per se, but nothing washes down tacos like a beer and the many choices on tap are sure to please everyone’s palate!
