Motivation Monday

When it comes to finding support and motivation, Laguna Beach has you accounted for. Self-motivation can be found along our shoreline (just sit or walk in silence and you’ll be inspired if not motivated by what you see, hear and smell). From an artistic standpoint, no other town we know of supports its citizenry the way Laguna does. And when it comes to your own health and wellbeing, Laguna’s plethora of options — from world-class doctors and healthy eateries to convenient access to hiking and biking trails and local health clubs and gyms — are nothing short of abundant.

Still, some of us may need a little push or guidance from time to time, and that’s where Cora Kasperski comes into play. A well-known figure in the local fitness scene, Kasperski founded Laguna Fitness over 15 years ago — a business that grew so much over the years that it recently made its way into new, larger, digs at 1999 South Coast Hwy. We recently sat down with Cora to learn more about staying motivated when it comes to our own health.

Here’s what she had to say:

  • Be consistent! One and done is no way to create a new you.
  • Find a time for fitness that works and then work it.
  • Whether you are doing cardio or resistance training, most fitness programs fail NOT because of lack of commitment but because of lack of consistency.
  • A healthy lifestyle is about taking care of yourself every day, so make it a habit and go for it — your body will thank you in the long run.

That’s great advice, and just what most of who are reengaging in healthy pursuits need to hear.

You can learn more about Cora — who was voted The Best of Laguna Beach℠ in the "Best Local Personal Trainer" category by the readers of Laguna Beach Vibe — by visiting Laguna Fitness online.

Check back next Monday for another healthtip from Cora.
