Laguna Live! Drive-In Concert with The Salty Suites

Since 2001, the non-profit Laguna Beach Live! has been steadfast in increasing the awareness of and participation in diverse musical experiences while enhancing the reputation of Laguna Beach as a music town.

Their tag line, Great Talent…Intimate Venues…Accessible Prices, is what they deliver, and during the pandemic they've been doing their best to continue their mission. Online you check out the compilation of past and future performers they assembled at https://www.lagunabeachlive.org/listen.

Recent live recordings virtually shown to the public featured Pianist Nicole Kouwabunpat from the Susi Q Center "Live! at the Q" and the September concert "Live! at the Museum" of the Encore Saxophone Quartet filmed live at Laguna Art Museum.

The ever-popular Jazz Wednesdays at Seven Degrees Event Center is canceled due to the pandemic however, "Live! on the Forest Avenue Promenade Stage" has live jazz performances on Wednesdays Sept. 16 and 23 and Eclectic Fridays of a more eclectic genre, on Fridays Sept. 18 and 25. All Promenade Stage performances are from 5 pm-7 pm and are free to the mask-wearing public.

Laguna Beach Live! is also pleased to reveal a new and "Live! Concert" on Tuesday, September 29. It's a tailgate party in City Lot 10, 625 Laguna Canyon Road, next to Seven7Seven. Cars will park in the numbered spaces, every other for social distancing, and the band will be in the middle. It's a Theater-in-the-Round concept, and you are welcome to set up chairs in front of your car. The Salty Suites, a terrific bluegrass-pop band, will perform live in concert. The gate opens at 3:30 pm, and the music is from 4:30 - 6 pm without intermission.

Cars will be $80 each, and two people from the same household are expected to be the norm. For the few that have 3-4 people, a few corner spots will be reserved. Patrons are welcome to bring their food and beverages but should be aware there is no restroom on site, and cars that leave in the middle cannot return. There are only 28 spaces, so early reservations are suggested and made at https://www.lagunabeachlive.org.

Monies raised from this event help recoup the losses from this challenging year and help the non-profit continue their work with "Live! Music & Kids" education programs bringing professional musicians to the Laguna Beach Boys & Girls Club and the Laguna schools for performances and classes. Laguna Beach Live! is pleased to have awarded scholarships to Laguna Beach High School students and "Live! Music Insights" are programs for adults who wish to learn more about particular genres or topics.
