Laguna Beach's Only Daily Entertainment Calendar!
Fête de la Musique, an international street music festival, has been a Laguna tradition for 12 years. On Sat. June 15, from 12-4pm, live music will be lining the downtown streets, The Hive and The H.I.P. District with the hub at Main Beach Cobblestones. According to Performance Organizer Ken Aubuchon, about 1/3 of the performers are new this year but some old favorites like The Budrows are returning.
In jazz, improvising is called “taking a ride” and Dan & Audrey Seidman of RideShare have been doing this since high school when they formed a musical/ matrimonial bond. For years they played the nightclub and wedding circuit but since moving to Laguna Beach their focus has been on jazz. Both multiinstrumental, when they perform Audrey plays flute Dan keyboards and they rotate around the vibraphone. They are a joy to watch because each song takes on a life of its own. Catch them at The Old Pottery Place in the HIP District.
New to the Fete is The Black Tongued Bells. Dubbed “American Swamp Music” they tap everything from Roots Rock and Roll, Blues, Motown, Americana, Cajun, and Gospel. They’ll be plugged in at the far end of Forest Avenue at The Water District - well worth the walk!
Also new is Irish, Celtic rock band Cillian’s Bridge bringing the pub to The Art Center patio where there is room to show off your best River Dance.
