Ellis Hall: The Ambassador of Soul

Through the ages, there have been a number of famous blind African American male entertainers in Gospel, Blues, Soul and Pop but few as unilaterally gifted as Ellis Hall. He is a seasoned and accomplished vocalist in possession of a powerful 5-octave range. He is a songwriter, arranger, producer and educator that teaches clinics in which he records all the parts of a song in 45 minutes. Ellis’ first instrument was drums before he went on to master piano, keyboards, guitar and – his favorites – upright and electric bass. Across a career of 40-plus years and counting, Ellis Hall has proven himself as an all-around performer that has entertained audiences on five continents, sharing stages with giants ranging from James Taylor, Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle and Toby Keith to Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Bobby Womack, George Duke and Sheila E. His reputation of excellence earned Ellis the moniker, “The Ambassador of Soul.”

Ceramics with Marty Barth

Instructor Marty Barth will guide students through the process of creating their own ceramic piece. In this dynamic class, participants will learn how to work with clay using a variety of ceramic tools and hand-building techniques. Wine & Painting Nights
Monterey Coast with Anthony Salvo

Uncork your creativity this summer at the Festival of Arts! Enjoy a fun painting workshop, while surrounded by beautiful art. Learn easy step-by-step processes, as taught by noted Festival exhibitor Anthony Salvo. Beginners and all levels are invited – take home your finished masterpiece! All supplies and complimentary wine or beverage are included. $75 materials fee per person, per class. For adults 21 and up. Reservations required. Jewelry with Sheri Cohen

Make your own one-of-a-kind jewelry at the Festival of Arts! This class will explore non-symmetrical and unusual color combinations for truly unique earrings and necklaces. Instructor Sheri Cohen will lead discussions and demonstrations on color, shape, texture and orientation. Tools and an assortment of beads will be provided with additional instruction on how to evaluate beads and tools when purchasing for future projects.
