The Eric Marienthal All-Stars
Date: Saturday, August 17 Time: 1 – 2:30pm
Cost: Free with $15 Festival admission Limited seating available in reserved section for $40 per person (includes Festival admission).

After graduating high school in Southern California in 1976, Eric went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. There he studied with the legendary saxophone professor, Joe Viola. By the time he left Berklee, Eric had achieved the highest proficiency rating given by the school. In 1995, Eric was awarded the Berklee Distinguished Alumnus Award for outstanding achievements in contemporary music. He has since gone on to perform in over 75 different countries, recorded 14 solo CD’s and has played on hundreds of records, films, television shows and commercial jingles.

Eric started his professional career in 1980 with famed New Orleans trumpeter Al Hirt. After returning to Los Angeles Eric became a member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band. He recorded 6 CD’s with Chick Corea band and won 2 Grammy Awards. Eric went on to perform with artists such as Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, Aaron Neville, Johnny Mathis, Dave Grusin, Lee Ritenour, George Duke, David Benoit, The Rippingtons, The Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band, Patti Austin, Lou Rawls, David Lee Roth, The Yellowjackets, B.B. King, Ramsey Louis, Patti Labelle, Olivia Newton-John, and many others.

 

Adult and Teen Art Classes Watercolors with Nikita Young
Date: Saturday, August 17
Time: 3pm – 5:30pm
Cost: $60 (includes Festival admission)

This is a beginning transparent watercolor class which will cover the basic watercolor techniques and methods. Using these techniques along with some design and composition concepts, students will create their own beautiful landscape painting to take home. Wine & Painting Nights Koi Fish with Mike Tauber
Date: Saturday, August 17 Time: 8:30 – 10pm
Cost: $75 (includes Festival admission)

Uncork your creativity this summer at the Festival of Arts! Enjoy a fun painting workshop, while surrounded by beautiful art. Learn easy step-by-step processes, as taught by noted Festival exhibitor Mike Tauber. Beginners and all levels are invited – take home your finished masterpiece! All supplies and complimentary wine or beverage are included. $75 materials fee per person, per class. For adults 21 and up. Reservations required. Festival Runway Fashion Show

Date: Sunday, August 18
Time: 12 – 3pm
Cost: Free with $15 Festival admission.
Limited seating available in reserved section for $25 per person (includes Festival admission).

The Festival Runway Fashion Show is a not-to-be missed event! Now in its 11th year, this event features Festival exhibitors who step out of their artistic medium and into the world of fashion. The result will blow your mind with over-the-top creative couture with the twist of all being made out of recycled, reused and reclaimed materials. It is a competition, similar to TV’s Project Runway. Festival artists start months in advance in hopes of taking home the top prize and bragging rights. Patrons will be amazed by this fully produced runway show, including celebrity host and a panel of fashion experts. This event never disappoints, even after ten years, our Festival artists’ creativity and ingenuity keeps it fresh with many surprises!

Adult and Teen Art Classes Gouache with Dennis Zervas

Date: Sunday, August 18
Time: 3pm – 5:30pm
Cost: $60 (includes Festival admission)

Learn all about the art of gouache! Gouache is similar to watercolor, but rather than working with transparent washes from light to dark, gouache has a stronger pigment and allows the artist to apply lighter tones on top of darker ones. In this class you’ll learn the basic properties of gouache and explore the fundamental techniques of this unique medium.
