Coyote Grill -The Waiting is the Hardest Part!

The 16-week closure of Laguna's treasured Coyote Grill bar/restaurant left a huge void for its die-hard regulars who enjoyed the Palapa Bar camaraderie, jam-packed Taco Tuesday and indulgent weekend Mimosa brunches. Sunday evening, those privy to the passcode "bar homeless" entered the side door, through the brand spanking new kitchen and were greeted by happy hostesses serving Coyote cocktails.

After almost 30 years, this beloved, family owned and operated, South Laguna landmark underwent a major face-lift including a new hostess area, custom built by Owner, Desiree Gomez, to better accommodate the steady flow of customers. Pending final inspection, the restaurant will be open to the public any day now.

The same care and attention to quality that went into the remodel are equally applied to their homemade sauces to create authentic Baja recipes like Pollo Borracho (drunken chicken) or the Puerto Nuevo style local Lobster. Gluten-Free, Vegetarian options are plentiful and if you follow them on Facebook, you can be in the know about their Secret Menu. Delicious "secret” items of bacon wrapped, stuffed jalapeños and guava margaritas are just a sample of some of their new menu items. Coyote Grill also won the Vibe’s 2017 Best of Laguna Beach reader’s choice for Best Margarita, Best Tacos and Best Taco Tuesday!

The bar front windows will soon be open as Bowser waits patiently on the bench while you scarf down Fajitas and on the back patio where the view of Catalina stares back at you. Cross your fingers for passing inspection so Coyote faithful can get back to normal!
