Laguna Beach's Only Daily Entertainment Calendar!
Sometimes a work of art is staring you right in the face and you don’t even realize it. While thumbing through the Laguna Beach Community Services Guide (CSG), I found myself wondering who exactly was responsible for this immaculately coordinated Guide jam packed with every local activity imaginable: Art, Dance, Fitness, Language, Music, Sports as well as valuable tips from our Police and Fire Departments.
Adam Gufarotti is the man in question, who 12 years ago started working in public administration for the City. As the Recreation Supervisor he has spearheaded a revamp of the quarterly CSG creating a more colorful, cost efficient and environmentally friendly publication.
Creating the CSG is quite labor intensive. Four issues are printed annually and 18,000+ copies are mailed to Lagunans and families within the Laguna Beach Unified School District. Contest winning photographs taken by LB residents have recently graced the CSG covers but the cover itself is an important decision that’s deliberated on for weeks by department staff. It’s something they take great pride in as they strive to capture Laguna’s essence.
Adam continues to unleash his creativity in many ways e.g. coordinating community Special Events for the City but the CSG remains a personal favorite, one he hopes to engage in for many issues to come.
The CSG is available at the Community Services wing of City Hall. It can also be viewed online at: launabeachcity.net
