1. GET OUT EARLY
Do what you have to do before noon, get the necessary provisions and get back to your abode to avoid crowds. Early bird is also the key for Music in the Park in Bluebird Park (Sundays from 5-7pm) in order to stake your claim if you wanna enjoy a picnic and see the band from a decent distance. To avoid the beach crowds I steer clear of the beach on the weekends otherwise arrive early for prime positioning.
2. LEAVE THE CAR AT HOME
Trolleys are daily so download the Visit Laguna Trolley Tracker App for more accuracy. Tune up your bike because it’s an efficient way to get around town and bike parking is always FREE! Ride on the back streets running parallel to Coast Highway and obey the laws of the road to avoid being ticketed.
3. STUFF TO DO
Don’t let the summer go by without at least 2 visits to the Festival of Arts where admission is free for locals and packing a picnic is totally acceptable. Sawdust Festival is free for locals on Thursdays and the 1st Friday of the month so take advantage. Reserve "Date Night" for Fridays or Sundays at Zinc Cafe for white table dinner service and Jazz on the Patio from 6-9. A true Summer in the City experience. If you haven’t done First Thursdays Art Walk in a while, start at the Laguna Art Museum with comp'd admission and docents and continue on foot to discover more beauty throughout town. Summertime Full Moon Drum Circles at Aliso State Beach are a great place to let loose and create some beats.
If you want to avoid rattlesnakes, stay off the trails and to completely avoid sharks, stay out of the water but life is for living so grab your sunscreen and reusable water bottle and ENJOY it!! Summer is short so make it memorable!
There's oodles more so check out LagunaNOW.com for a daily calendar of events and entertainment.
