A Family (and Friends) Affair

MacGillivray Freeman Films once again wowed friends and family with multiple screenings of their latest film America’s Musical Journey at the Edwards Irvine Spectrum. The screenings were April 25th.

The IMAX 3D film travels to a handful of cities across the U.S. delivering a 40 minute, eye-popping spectacle of musical education which they hope will be viewed by every student in America. The company is a family affair consisting of Greg MacGillivray, Chairman/Director, Barbara (wife) and Meghan (daughter) who oversee production, and Shaun (son) who has progressed into the role of Producer. Their passion for ocean conservation led Greg and Barbara to found "One World One Ocean", a non-profit charity dedicated to educating and inspiring the public about the urgency to protect the world’s ocean. They are avid supporters of the Arts in Laguna and to protect and nurture our tree population, they endowed the first Laguna Urban Tree Fund. Greg is also heading up plans to preserve and restore the iconic Hotel Laguna in order to continue its legacy for future generations. They truly exemplify love for community. The movie's storyline includes a stop at home where they expertly capture beautiful scenery throughout Laguna while highlighting special music programs at the Boys and Girls Club. Local jazz artists performed as part of the pre-screening entertainment headed by Steve Wood, Music Director of the films.

The support was evident in the tremendous turnout for each screening (4). MacGillivray Freeman Films continue to entertain, educate and inspire us with their passion, love and loyalty for our community and world at large.
